A Rufus-Retro-Wainwright-Spective: "Rufus Wainwright" Part 2
Fri., Oct. 16, 5PM EDT. $20. (Multi-show access packages also available.)
Rufus Wainwright’s career began in earnest in 1998 with the release of his debut album, but really he’d been knee deep in music from the get-go. The son of musicians, Loudon Wainwright III and the late Kate McGarrigle, Rufus Wainwright grew up with open ears, and a flair for the dramatic. His catalog of music ranges from fun folk-pop songs to full-on grand opera. Now, he’s taking audiences on a livestreamed tour of all his records, where every Friday, he plays one side of one of his nine studio albums. On Fri., Oct. 16, it’s side two of his first album, which includes this song, “Beauty Mark.” The Rufus-Retro-Wainwright-Spective continues every Friday to January 8.
